Before working with Jasmine, I struggled to clarify my goals. I was like a ship with the sails down, drifting wherever the current took me. I joined Jasmine Platt’s Mastermind in 2015 on the recommendation of a friend who had achieved massive shifts and results working with her.

At the time, I was running an already highly successful property management and real estate company in Sydney, but I was feeling a stirring - like there was something else I wanted to be doing with my life. A purpose that I wasn’t fulfilling. So I joined the Mastermind to help me make this shift. To find and ground my purpose with my work. Working with Jasmine helped me do this.

During this time, I realised that I wanted to get into coaching, but it was also very new to me. I spent the year with Jasmine working on the shifts I needed to make, as well as working on developing my skills and confidence - and on practical ways to set up a viable coaching business.

The coaching was fabulous, but so too were the retreats where I learned a lot - and was able to make life-changing decisions, that have really supported my purpose and my business.

Alongside Jasmine’s coaching, the Mastermind environment that she sets up with other great people who are also working on developing their businesses and going through similar things was really supportive and beneficial. I'd been an entrepreneur, and foundered a high-tech company which took a product to the top of the App store, and had been the guy whose company kicked off angel investment in NZ - so I knew about sales and strategy and how to pitch.

What I knew less about was how to build a business based on offering services, how to sell intangibles (as opposed to software), and how to position value in a services-based business.

More importantly, I was surprised to find that my confidence was actually quite low when the "product" I was selling was me. Through working with Jasmine I did things that were well outside my comfort zone. I cold-called people for the first time, I asked people how they were going to sell their decision internally to the decision-maker, and I was able to hold a bigger vision for myself and my capability. This was possible because she helped me: 

1.  cultivate the habit of consistent bold action 
2.  be more confident in myself, and have greater belief in what I was doing. 
3.  focus on the service I was giving to others, not what I personally "got out of" any new clients.

More importantly again though, Jasmine provided role modelling of what a great coach looks like.

As a leader, I believe if one is unable to coach - one is actually unable to be a great leader. Because great leaders build other leaders, not followers.

Though Jasmine was clearly a very experienced and well trained coach, she never seemed to be following any particular approach, both her questions and her guidance always seemed to be completely intuitive. There were many times when I saw her in action when I marvelled at her intuitive ability to ask the right question at the right time, her ability to challenge people while staying in rapport, her own visionary leadership.

This inspired me to better myself, and be a better coach and leader - and her coaching was the catalyst for helping me to realise this vision.

I started working closely with Jasmine in 2020. I signed up for a year's coaching programme.

I look back at my achievements over this time and can't believe how far I've come in both my business and personal spaces.

Before working with Jasmine, I felt like I was working hard with very little structure, and getting average results. Life felt like a roller coaster: I would get busy and stressed, then get on top of it, and this pattern would repeat time after time. I was disorganised, and was sleeping poorly.

When I met Jasmine, I initially said making more money wasn’t important to me, I simply wanted to get better systems in place. When we started, I set a goal around getting more organised. She also got me to set a money goal, so I set a goal of closing six listings.

Through working together, I am about to close my 17th listing in three months. I had heard before that having clear goals and planning are important, but I now really understand it!

She helped me to look at my business from a business perspective and realise that if I got help with my lower-dollar-value work, I could structure time so much better.
